Where DayBetter wins

Cost. DayBetter routinely runs 30-40% cheaper for the same length, especially at the 50 ft and 100 ft tiers. The hardware is good enough for ambient lighting; the corner where you can tell the difference is gradient effects, where DayBetter snaps between zones because the controller is not addressable per LED.

What to ignore

Both brands market a "music DJ mode". Both work the same way: phone mic, 100-150 ms latency, fine for ambient. If music sync is the main reason for the purchase, neither is good enough; a dedicated DSP solution (Hue Sync Box, or a PC running OpenRGB with a USB audio capture) is the right tool.
